MONDO is led by a talented educator (primary)who started his own company. Consultants who worked with MONDO, like Tony Stead, always maintained connections to classrooms by spending time in urban classrooms each week, working with teachers and students.
MONDO's work (literacy assessment tools, especially) was recently highlighted & praised in a new book by Michael Fullan, and others, titled BREAKTHROUGH. The book won the award given annually for Teacher Ed programs. Mondo's BEL project has also received favorable indiependent reviews, including gains documented in schools with readers performing significantly below state expectations on assessements (Florida, for example). At least the person who made the choice for you picked the best available!
