I looked earlier in the year for some Interactive Book Sites and found the
following... I made a few notations by some of the sites for a variety of
reasons. Most are free (otherwise the fee is nominal).
Hope it helps!

Interactive Book Sites

http://pbskids.org/jakers/stories/

http://www.mightybook.com/MightyBook_free/Free_Stories_and_Songs.html
($25 per classroom)

http://www.readplay.com/home.php3
nonfiction

http://www.nickjr.com/home/just_for_me_stories.jhtml
doesn’t highlight words as read, but could be high interest

http://www.storylineonline.net/
stories read by actors, words are not highlighted as read, cool to see the
people actually reading

http://www.fablevision.com/place/library/index.html
stories are online, not read aloud at all (maybe fun for the more capable
readers)

http://kids.mysterynet.com/
definitely for fluent readers, kids read book online, then try to solve the
mystery

http://www.kennedy-center.org/multimedia/storytimeonline/
requires Real Player G2 (not sure if it’s good or not)
