Sailing into the last six weeks here I am beginning a Poetry Unit. Along with
that my kids are excited about my promise to turn them loose to choose their
own book groups and novels. As I try to decide what I will ask of them as they
respond to the literature and meet to talk I am reflecting on the earlier
strategy lessons and wondering about the best way to revist all the work we
have done....perhaps more of an assessment for my needs rather than theirs.

But I am stuck. Everything I think of seems so contrived. Does anyone have a
response model that encourages kids to reflect on strategies they use as they
read? Thanks! Gina
