Hi all, I have a few questions for those who have used the primary comprehension toolkit..... are the mentor texts and lessons geared mostly to non-fiction? If so does anybody know the thinking behind that? I would assume even if that is so... many of the strategy lessons could be applied to fiction.... however I am well aware that the textural structure is a big piece needed for deep meaning..... My principal is willing to let me try it out next year but his reservations center on the nonfiction piece.....I need some concrete examples of how this would improve my practice in first grade .... I want him to order now so I can start up in September..... Is the 3-5 kit organized the same way? Your comments are greatly appreciated.
