Hi All, My name is Honor and I'm a new member whose been given the task of joining this listserv as part of a class I'm taking. My teaching experience has been primarily in Pre-K and in a Montessori environment of some description. I have a couple of questions. 1.) What is your general understanding of the Montessori approach to early literacy? I am particularly curious as to what impressions non-Montessorians have. 2.) What have you observed working with young children as far as the child presenting an interest in reading and writing. Do you see writing preceding reading or vice versa? Thanks for your interest.
