We've done One Book for our K-8 school for several years. Some of the titles are: Esperanza Rising, Becoming Naomi Leon, Seedfolk and out next year book will be Sahara Special. I'd also like to recommend The Tale of Despereaux which incidentally was a favorite read aloud even with my 8th grade boys.
