As far as recommending Putting Thinking to the Test to K-8....

My first thought was yes, because

1.  It models so many great teaching strategies and how to embed metacognitive 
work in ANYTHING you're doing.
2.  It helps everyone understand how to make those high stakes test a little 
more about real classroom work.


But I know those Kinder and First grade teachers have full buckets with the 
unique needs of their little guys, so I agree with Jen that 2nd grade teachers 
would be a good place to start.  Knowing that most states are starting these 
tests, I think, in third grade, second grade teachers can use many of the ideas 
in their own way to pave the way.
