A group of five of us went to a two day instittue with Ellin Keene, Debbie Miller, and a writing teacher who had worked for years with Ellin and her group. It was very inspiring. Two of the teachers were experienced, one Was relatively new, one was a special ed teacher who was experienced but hadn't done much work in literacy per se. I have been teaching for 40+ years and am literacy/assessment coach as well as teacher at the school. It was VERY WORTHWHILE for all of us. I should add two of us were familiar with Keene's work ahead of time. Rest were not.
