       My district has adopted a scripted language arts program.   
While the program is good and emphasises the key comprehension  
strategies  I miss using student interests, need and strengths to plan  
lessons.  I have been doing some investigating about scripted  
programs.  Two articles I have found are "Scripted Reading Programs:  
Fishing for Success by Deborah Duncan-Owens in the Jan/Feb 2009

Robert E. Land and Margaret Moustafa
California State University Los Angeles

Both discuss the positives and negative.
