I've been a member of the group for awhile and so appreciate the great ideas I receive from this talented group of professionals. I'll be returning to the classroom (second grade) after a year's leave and want to utilize reading response journals. I'd love to hear ideas on how these are done in your classrooms, especially primary classes. I can't find much specific info in the professional reading I've been doing. Journals are mentioned, but the details are lacking. In the past I've had students use prompts (always modeled, of course), with mixed results. Any help you can give would be appreciated.
