Kelly...I moved to kindergarten last year after teaching first grade for many
years. Don't make the mistake that I did and assume that kinders are just
smaller first graders! Take the first couple of months to teach routines! I
linked every transition to a song. I also burned a CD with the songs that I
used in the order that I used them so that I could just hit play and pause.
This worked like a charm. If you are consistent and really teach those
transitions well you will have a great year. I remember that it took quite a
while and I could not take it one more day and then....by some kind of
miracle....they just did it on their own! :)

Good luck...I am doing my second year in K this year so if you need beginner's
support, email me!

Subject: [MOSAIC] First Time in Kindergarten

Hello, I have been teaching first grade for the past 3 years. This year I will
be teaching kindergarten for the first time. I was wondering if anyone had any
advice or suggestions for me to help next year be a successful year.

Thanks,

Kelly
