The power of reading aloud to children before they ever enter school is imense.
There have been many studies done on this topic, most that I have researched
was with infants and toddlers and outcomes of these children were far
better off then children who had no to little literacy experiences at home.
Reading aloud should and must start when a child is born. There was much brain
research done that related to the development of an infant's brain and by the
time an infant is one they have mastered the sounds of their spoken language,
so that is a perfect opportunity to be sharing with your child great
literature. Also is it recommended by researchers that a minimum of three read
alouds a day is needed. I am also researching this topic! :)

Thanks, Brooke
