Brenda, We use Basic Writing Skills (Dr. Judy Hochman) to teach writing in grades 3-5. It is an expository writing program based on explicit instruction at the sentence and paragraph level. The kids are exposed to six different paragraph types (narrative, persuasive, process (how-to), sequence, cause and effect, problem/solution. Meg
