I've never taught letter of the week. Get the books The Literate
Kindergarten by Susan Kempton and No More Letter of the Week by Pat Lusche.

I did not teach letter of the week in Kindergarten even though the
other two K teachers at my school did. I have no clue what "level C" is
but all but two of my students were reading books at the end of the
year at various levels of expertise which I considered appropriate at
the end of Kindergarten. :-)

Renee..... who is sick of "level this" and "level that" and longing for
times when teachers could make their own assessments.
