Our district also expects grammar to be taught within authentic writing, but
within the workshop model mini grammar lessons can be taught to whole group
or small groups of students with similar need. I have found the Stack the
Deck series to be useful as a resource. (not as a program). Our district
also recently went through our benchmarks and compiled a scope K-8 of what
should be mastered at each level so teachers have realistic expectations and
everyone is on the same page. I can share that if you email me I will send
it to you as an attachment.
