Jaime, you might find great sources of content on the web sites below.  You can 
find various levels on the same content. You can print the short articles and 
use them for comprehension strategy lessons.  I would really focus on 
comprehension and not be as concerned with fluency. The web sites below have 
such great material.  You can build background knowledge and vocabulary to 
enhance their learning. The strategy "word sort" before and after reading is 
great with these content stories. The stories hold middle school interest and 
are often reinforced in the daily news.
