I have Writer's Inc., and will take a look at it. But it strikes me that it is an excellent, sensible style guide while what we need is the equivalent of an anatomy book. This is not a writing class (grammar in context, gasp, none of that), but an analysis class. It is especially difficult for Tanner as his background in education simply did not include an emphasis on labeling and dissection. And, as I discover how much I have forgotten, I am only reminded how little my own reading and writing was influenced by labeling and dissection.
