This is the edited list for Michigan! unqualified administrators (i.e., leadership training but no teaching experience) overcrowded classes in too small classrooms teacher apathy using test scores as teacher evaluation poor staff morale closing of hundreds of schools thousands of teacher lay-offs increased class size legislation to ignore teacher seniority In addition: a 3% increase in our retirement contribution for a total of 6.9%. There is talk of a mandatory 5% reduction in our salaries in the legislature currently also.
