Check out "The Philip K. Dick Reader". It's a collection of his short stories. Short, easy reads, but lots of interesting ideas to talk about. You know his work, even if you think you've never heard of him. He's all over the culture: Blade Runner, Total Recall, Screamers, etc. He's a big name -- and deserves every bit of praise -- in sci fi.

What are the guided reading levels for these texts?

Science Fiction/Space Theme books

My favorite science fiction for that age is Ender's Game by Orson Scott
Card. The Robert Heinlein books for kids are classic science fiction. My
daughter loved them. Also, The Forgotten Door by Alexander Key.

Thanks
Nancy
