Try the Nancy Atwell school site in Maine for reading suggestions 3/4. And you know I really love the book Day-today Assessment in the Reading Workshop. It's more than assessment or maybe rather understands that our teaching has to come from the kids so it's all about giving them ownership. It is such a good practical book....thoughtful yet not heavy duty, just lovel and practical and lots of kids examples and ways for kids to self assess and so on. It's like talking to a really great colleague!
It's by Frank Sibberson and aimed at 3-6. Good luck. Should be soooooo fun. I will attach my handout re my favorite links in my next reply. Hope that could be helpful too. It's not just 3-4 but in my 47 years I've learned that good stuff is just flat out good stuff and works at whatever age if I just start and listen to the kids and adjust to meet their strengths and needs and interests.
