I like this Jan - brief response, not taking away reading mileage time but
getting them to understand the value of stopping to think if only for a very
short time.  Theyn they got the longer instruction in other parts of their
day.   Makes sense to me.  Did you ever find that sometimes a few would
actually write something very astute, wise even in that short frame???  I
would often ask then if I could share - just casually of course - with the
class.  Look at some of the neat thoughts your peers are sharing.
