I'm curious about this as well. Usually I talk about character traits & what makes someone a "hero." I have the kids decide who their own personal hero is and they make a poster listing the character traits, a picture and a few other things. THis year, I want to do something differnet being as we live in NY and it's the 10 year anniversary. My own issue, however, is that many of the students have lost relatives (parent(s), family members, etc.) in the attack so it has to be VERY sensitive. I'm curious to hear other ideas. ________________________________________ From: [email protected] [[email protected]] on behalf of [email protected] [[email protected]] Sent: Friday, July 29, 2011 7:24 AM To: [email protected] Subject: [MOSAIC] Teaching 9/11
HI Everyone, I was wondering if anyone has ideas on how to teach about 9/11 this year since it is the 10th anniversary of this event(I'm not sure anniversary is the right word??). I teach 4th grade and I'm looking for great resources and ideas. I think this is an important topic to discuss. I look forward to hearing your thoughts and ideas. Thank you! Have a great day!
