I would love to hear people's thinking on the complexity of text issue as well... A good resource is Timothy Shanahan's website and he is on UTube discussing this issue of "close" reading and ALL students reading complex text- even the struggling/below grade readers. Also Freddy Hiebert has some great resources as well..
