Sounds like a lag in phonological development which inturns negates your
efforts in teaching her phonics.  It is also logical that processing is a
factor in that lag.  See your speech path.   Meanwhile, keep up the guided
reading and include repeated readings, sight word development, or sight
word phrases.  I have found that CAP/lack of phonological skill and phonic
instruction don't jibe.  Again, your speech path will be able to offer
strategies to this child.
