Karen Caine is a Heinemann author of Writing to Persuade (Heinemann) and a great literacy consultant. Great at working with teachers -- google her name and you can get her info. Her workshops and work in classrooms is awesome and her workshops are also funny as well as informative. Highly recommend her. I think her background is that she worked for the Teachers College Writing project for awhile and I know she worked in NYC public schools for a long time.
