We use the QRI5 because it's inexpensive and has a good variety of passages for each level. Some of our district schools favor DRA2 or Fount as Pin ell for more gradients within levels. I do find it necessary to use the CORE Reading Assessments for specific skkill diagnosis, but that's not usually nèeded for group placement. It just depends upon the reason for testing for choosing a test.
