The child process has its own copy of the parent's descriptors а perldoc fork - чтоFile descriptors (and sometimes locks on those descriptors) are shared, while everything else is copied.
Насколько я понимаю, без очень нетривиальных трюков реализовать шаринг дескрипторов при форке не получится.
