it's a hierarchical model, not syntax, right? the ini file seems ok. i 
use a cluster which kills my jobs if it uses more that 4-6 GB, so it 
shouldn't use 16gb.

it may be that your max-chart-span for the rule table is too high. Try
     [max-chart-span]
     10
     1000
