AUTOMATIC PATENT TRANSLATION SESSION AT THE IRF SYMPOSIUM 2011 Revised CALL FOR PARTICIPATION
http://www.ir-facility.org/events/irf-symposium/irf-symposium-2011/call-for-participation-irf-symposium-2011 We are looking for students working in machine translation who would like to show their translation prototype at a user-oriented conference. The systems can be trained with either the CLEF-IP collection (patents in French, German and English) or the NTCIR collection (patents in Chinese, Japanese and English). The Programme Committee will select at least one group for the presentation in the plenary session, and invite others to present their results with a poster in the Exhibition (including the possibility to show a demo). These experimental results will be evaluated by an Intellectual Property (IP) expert, who will present his/her evaluation at the IRF Symposium (http://www.irfs.at). The translation task consists of translating into English a small set of paragraphs extracted from patent documents. The paragraphs may be in French, German, Chinese or Japanese and may represent either parts of patent descriptions or actual claims. The evaluation will be informally done by patent experts by comparing translations provided by different systems. THIS IS AN EXCELLENT OPPORTUNITY FOR CLEF-IP AND NTCIR-MT PARTICIPANTS TO LEVERAGE THEIR RESEARCH WORK BY RAISING THEIR VISIBILITY TOWARDS INDUSTRY. IMPORTANT DATES: Demonstration of interest: 15 January 2011 Texts to be translated provided by the organizers: 1 February 2011 Submission of translation results (first run): 7 February 2011 Notification of acceptance: 15 February 2011 Submission of draft presentation incorporating final results: 18 April 2011 Selection of system(s) for presentation: 30 April 2011 IRF Symposium 2011: 7-9 June 2011 Contact: [email protected] Participants are also invited to submit a paper describing the techniques to the IRF Conference (http://www.irfc.at). ----------------------------------------- Mihai Lupu Post-doctoral Research Fellow Information Retrieval Facility Tech Gate, Donau-City Straße 1, A-1220 Vienna Phone: +43 1 236 94 74 -6071 Mobile: +43 664 263 92 23 [email protected] www.ir-facility.org _______________________________________________ Moses-support mailing list [email protected] http://mailman.mit.edu/mailman/listinfo/moses-support
