Kārlis, folks: thanks a lot. I was making many changes and maybe I made a mistake. Reinstalled everything and then ran fine, with the patch for Giza++ (http://code.google.com/p/giza-pp/issues/detail?id=11, comment 4). Apologies everyone.
This patch for Giza++ seems to be working fine — has anyone contacted the maintainers of Giza++ to integrate it in their code?
