Ubuntu 11.10 updates the Linux kernel to 3.0. Fedora 16 (Redhat)
updates the Linux kernel to 3.1. Next year, releases are expected with
updates to 3.2.

I have users testing our current Moses SVN 4153 (dated
but stable) on 11.10. I'll report the results here.

The default Perl &
Python packages are also changing. 11.10 changed to Perl 5.12. Next
year's 12.04 LTS (long-term support) will default to Perl 5.14 and
Python 3.2. I'm not sure about Fedora/Redhat

Some Moses scripts are
Python, and a move to 3.2 requires conversion and testing. Has anyone
given any consideration to supporting the new 3.2 interpreter?

Most
are Perl. Are there any known incompatibilities in the new Perl version?
If so, same question about supporting the new interpreter.
