try using shared linking
./bjam link=shared ...
it may be that the static library for thread-mt isn't installed on you
computer.
The static version has the name
libboost_thread-mt.a
the shared version is
libboost_thread-mt.so
or if you don't need threading, turn it off
./bjam threading=single ...
