Note that Ubuntu 10.04 LTS installs libboost 1.40 from the Debian
repository. Is it possible that some of the recent changes to support
1.49 and 1.50 have broken support for 1.40?

Also, I've experienced
several recent problems related to boost support on Ubuntu 10.04 LTS in
both Moses and MGIZA++. Ubuntu seems to be a popular platform, and 10.04
is a "long-term support" version with support from Canonical through
April 2015. It's unlikely, however, that the Debian repository will
update libboost on these back versions.

Therefore, if problems
persist, would an easier solution be to document how users can manually
update libboost to version 1.50 on older systems?

Sorry guys. Some of the changes
since 21 June (two weeks) have broken Moses moses compile on Ubuntu
10.04 LTS. I attached a log file that includes the command line and
github revision in the header.
