I'm using Mavericks too and it compiles ok. These are the commands i used
Boost:
./bootstrap.sh
./b2 -j8 --prefix=$PWD --libdir=$PWD/lib64 --layout=tagged link=static
threading=multi,single install
Moses:
./bjam --with-boost=/Users/hieu/workspace/boost/boost_1_55_0
I have macport installed, but not gcc or boost
