Hello All, This might be slightly off topic but can anyone suggest some good basic papers for Speech to Speech translation ? More particularly I am interested in methods which directly try to translate a speech signal without intermediate text representation. (Am I sounding too farfetched/senseless when I say this ?) The most I was able to dig up was a collection of papers describing systems like Verbmobil and Janus. But the methods would be more interesting.
