Interactions LLC is seeking enterprising scientists and engineers to
invent interactive intelligent technologies as part of the Speech and
Natural Language Processing team established with the recent acquisition
of AT&T’s Watson group. Candidates will focus on driving the invention
and innovation required to create the Interface of Things™, a new wave
of natural language interfaces with unprecedented accuracy and analytics
applications.
There are several research scientist and engineer openings in the
world-renowned team of speech, language and machine learning experts in
all aspects of speech, natural language and multimodal processing
technologies. Members of our technical staff have opportunities to lead
original research, publish technical papers, impact the innovative
business model of the company and make a lasting impact in these
technologies. Candidates will research and develop rich models of
language (speech and text) by combining rules and machine learned models
trained on massive audio and text databases, design and implement robust
and scalable cross-lingual speech and natural language processing
algorithms and software, and conceive and implement innovative
multimodal conversational systems.
*Experience:
*
* PhD or MS degree in computer science, electrical engineering,
linguistics, or a related field
* *For Speech positions*: Experience in speech recognition or
synthesis with emphasis in one or more of the following:
o Digital signal processing
o Deep neural networks for acoustic modeling
o Multilingual and large-scale language modeling
o Pronunciation modeling
o Speech recognition training and decoding software
* *For NLP positions*: Experience in natural language processing (NLP)
with emphasis in one or more of the following:
o Rapid bootstrapping of domain-specific and multilingual NLP models
o Deep neural network models for NLP
o Spoken language understanding
o Syntax-semantic interfaces using ontologies
o Discourse processing and summarization
o Natural language generation
o Harvesting NL resources from the Web
o Interactive NL systems
o Machine Learning Software: Scikit-Learn, Torch, Theano,
Spark/MLI, Graphlab or parameter servers.
* *For Multimodal positions*: In-depth understanding of speech,
language, and dialog processing technologies with specific emphasis
in one or more of the following:
o Spoken dialog systems
o Virtual assistants
o Natural language understanding
o Machine learning for interactive systems
o Multimodal interfaces
o Language modeling
o Gesture recognition
o Mobile user interface design

Strong software background with extensive experience in at least one
major programming language (Python, C/C++, Java).
