Have used motion for years on linux PCs and Raspberry PI.
Just upgraded a machine to new version of Ubuntu and re-install motion from the
beginning using apt-get. The version is shown below.
Here is the problem: motion is writing out many, many .jpgs in the target
folder. Here are some examples in the listing below of the files - they are
related to movies - then appear in bunches whenever a movie is made.
any suggestions would be most helpful.
thanks,
Matt

Hi
I just installed motion on Debian.
Trying to run motion for the first time (daemon off and setup_mode on @
/etc/motion/motion.conf) as you can see here:
http://pastebin.com/SgPeee4D
I get result including many of "unknown config options" as feedback:
http://pastebin.com/bFRsuECJ
Please help.
PS. There is USB webcam connected:
Bus 001 Device 002: ID 1e4e:0102 Cubeternet GL-UPC822 UVC WebCam
And its present @ system:
root@T5730:/home/mariusz# ls /dev/vi*
/dev/video0
root@T5730:/home/mariusz#
Works perfectly with guvcview.
But As you can cee I can't run motion without a lot of "unknown config
options"...
Please help.
Best regards
Mariusz

You are using old config with a newer motion. Some config parameters have
been renamed. Update your config to match latest changes:
