Hi
Can anybody please help with getting motion to work. Don't know where to
start with posting information but when I type motion , the Logitech
webcam lights up but I don't get any picture.
Your patience and assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Start with running motion from command line with "-n" switch and post here
the output

You probably did something wrong.
Option "webcam_port" is an old one, but you still has that in your config
somehow. Check once again to use latest config from that github link
Another thing, your motion may be compiled iwthout FFmpeg, so you may
continue getting error about unknown "ffmpeg_*" options

And by the way, the version you are using seems to be "3.2.12+git20140228"
which is really outdated
Grab the source code and build the fresh one to enjoy latest bugfixes!
