Hi,

I have some weird need. I want to use timelapse option, but take 10 frames per
second.
timelapse option takes only integer and minimal value is 1 (it?s 1 frame every
second) but I need 0.1 (10 frames every second)
It is possible?

Thanks!

No. At least not with timelapse option
But you can reprocess timelapse using ffmpeg or mencoder and change
framerate to whatever you want. This also includes lossless processing (no
recompression)

Tosiara is right. You would have to get into the code to get that to
work or do encoding of the JPGs.

If you want to go into the code, my guess to do this would be at line
2043 of motion.c. It is indicating that the cnt-shots must be zero.
Changing that condition to <10 should trigger 10 events for each
second. If this is what you are wanting, I'd recommend that you don't
use the SWF codec option. There will be latency issues because for each
event, it is opening, appending a pic and then closing the file which is
slow.

Hi,

i have a problem with motion, installed on my Raspberry Pi following this
Howto ( sorry, in German )
https://blog.tausys.de/2015/02/11/raspberry-pi-als-webcam-bzw-motion-tracker/

Now i issue the Problem, that motion, if started with

# motion -nc /etc/motion/motion.conf

produces some output, but works fine ( picture on WebInterface), instead of

# motion -c /etc/motion/motion.conf

(without -n), running in Background, is detecting less capabilities
(STREAMING is missing)
and has Errors:

[1] [ERR] [ALL] [Oct 22 16:16:23] motion_init: Error capturing first image
[1] [ERR] [ALL] [Oct 22 16:16:23] motion_loop: Video device fatal error -
Closing video device

The complete issue is located here (in english)
https://www.raspberrypi.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=28&t=123957&e=0

Thank You

Stephan

Can you start motion with more detailed logging both foreground and
backgroud process and post complete logs for both cases?
