Err, so when I have ffmpeg_video_codec set to ogg then it provides avi
timelapse files. When I set to it to swf it creates swf files?

How is motion performing RTSP? It appears that motion is the only tool
on the planet that can read the RTSP stream from a Foscam C1 (see
http://foscam.us/forum/foscam-c1-broken-rtsp-t18352.html) and I think
others would benefit from knowing how motion is doing it. Perhaps it's
using ffmpeg and invoking some options?

I just used ffmpeg to do it. Motion calls avformat_open_input with an
option to enable tcp if requested. It doesn't seem to be anything special.
Maybe something is different between the ffmeg versions being used?

I've spent a lot of time fiddling with ffmpeg but can't get it to work.
mplayer fails too. motion must be doing something special but i don't
know what.. How do you specify tcp?
