Thanks for the email.

It launches fine, although asks for authentication again.

Cheers

Ok. It looks like I have set myself up for public humiliation!

I have no idea how I did this but I appear to have used a second ? in the URL
instead of using &.

i.e. This does not work:

http://192.168.1.133/videostream.cgi?user=admin?pwd=XXXXX

This does!

http://192.168.1.133/videostream.cgi?user=admin&pwd=XXXXX

I?m not sure how I did that. I generally keep old URL?s commented out in my
config files. I wonder if I messed those up and uncommented the wrong ones when
I had the initial issues with the truncated password.

With regards to the truncated password, the latest Foscam firmware ask you to
change your password to one using A-Z, 0-1 and between 6-12 characters. If you
use more than 12 characters, your password is truncated, WITHOUT ANY WARNING,
and the truncated password is stored!

Cheers,
Chris

Here's a new one, generated from mpeg4 not swf:

Hi
I know that if motion tries to write to a directory to save pics/video and the
permissions are wrong
motion shuts down.
If on event end I try to get it to send the video file to a remote location
with SCP and the SCP
client can't connect, will this also cause motion to shut down ?
