Hi guys
I been using Motion with 3 cams on a ARM SBC running on unbutu 14.
I recently changed the OS to Ubuntu16.04LTS and used the same .conf files as
before.
But getting some strange results
I get on start up this:-
odroid@odroid:/etc/motion$ [501056] [NTC] [ALL] conf_load: Processing thread 0
- config file /etc/motion/motion.conf
[501056] [ALR] [ALL] conf_cmdparse: Unknown config option "netcam_http"
[501056] [ALR] [ALL] conf_cmdparse: Unknown config option "despeckle"
[501056] [ALR] [ALL] conf_cmdparse: Unknown config option "gap"
[501056] [ALR] [ALL] conf_cmdparse: Unknown config option "max_mpeg_time"
[501056] [ALR] [ALL] conf_cmdparse: Unknown config option "output_all"
[501056] [ALR] [ALL] conf_cmdparse: Unknown config option "output_normal"
[501056] [ALR] [ALL] conf_cmdparse: Unknown config option "output_motion"
[501056] [ALR] [ALL] conf_cmdparse: Unknown config option "ppm"
[501056] [ALR] [ALL] conf_cmdparse: Unknown config option "ffmpeg_cap_new"
[501056] [ALR] [ALL] conf_cmdparse: Unknown config option "ffmpeg_cap_motion"
[501056] [ALR] [ALL] conf_cmdparse: Unknown config option "locate"
[501056] [ALR] [ALL] conf_cmdparse: Unknown config option "jpeg_filename"

[501056] [ALR] [ALL] conf_cmdparse: Unknown config option "webcam_maxrate"
[501056] [ALR] [ALL] conf_cmdparse: Unknown config option "webcam_localhost"
[501056] [ALR] [ALL] conf_cmdparse: Unknown config option "webcam_limit"
[501056] [ALR] [ALL] conf_cmdparse: Unknown config option "control_port"
[501056] [ALR] [ALL] conf_cmdparse: Unknown config option "control_localhost"
[501056] [ALR] [ALL] conf_cmdparse: Unknown config option "control_html_output"
[501056] [ALR] [ALL] conf_cmdparse: Unknown config option "sql_log_image"
[501056] [ALR] [ALL] conf_cmdparse: Unknown config option "sql_log_mpeg"
[501056] [NTC] [ALL] motion_startup: Using default log level (NTC) (6)
[501056] [NTC] [ALL] motion_startup: Motion 3.2.12+git20140228 Started with SDL
support
[501056] [NTC] [ALL] motion_startup: Logging to syslog
[501056] [NTC] [ALL] motion_startup: Using default log type (ALL)
[501056] [NTC] [ALL] motion_startup: Using log type (ALL) log level (NTC)
[501056] [NTC] [ALL] become_daemon: Motion going to daemon mode
[501056] [NTC] [ALL] create_path: creating directory /var/run/motion

Seeing unknown options like "webcam_port" makes me wonder if the config file
has been changed
I'm getting strange things like saving jpeg pictures but no .avi files and not
being able to
login to the webcam port, yet its reading the ipcam url OK

sorry its an idiot question.

A lot of config params have been renamed in the new version of motion.
You need to revise your
config and update old names

Hi
as I had to amend my config files to allow for change names
I took the opportunity to create a thread file for each of the three cameras.
I left the threshold settings on the main motion.conf file as they all use the
same settings

I found over night I had 8000 avi files :(
Do the threshold settings for each camera need to go in the thread file even if
they are all the
same ???

Thanks

AFAIK, config params from thread file overrides whatever option is
specified in the main config. I mean, if threshold is specified in the
main config - all threads will inherit that
If you found that threshold value needs to be copied into every thread
- then this is a bug. Please report in in the project's github repo
Thanks
