I now need to switch over to running motion eye on Ubuntu. When I try to connect with the same URL, username and password it does not work, and the last line in motion.log is Server returned 401 Unauthorized. If I disable authentication on the camera's RTSP settings I can get connected from. I don't want to leave authentication disabled. Other tests I've done: 1. I created a new user on the camera with a very simple username and password, I can connect to that fine from the pi, but experience the same problem from the Ubuntu setup. 2. I can connect to the camera from ubuntu using VLC whether authentication is disabled, or using either of the account available on the camera. 3. If I stop the motioneye service, then start motion directly I get the same 401 Unauthorized error It seems to me that the Ubuntu setup is not passing the credential correctly. Can you help? It records normally until there is "motion gap" where it pauses recording, and resumes recording when there is more motion. This generates 1 single movie file that captures both motion events. When I playback this movie, it plays back the 1st motion event at normal speed, but continues playing the 2nd motion event at a much faster rate e.g. plays 1 minute of video in 5 seconds. If the 2nd motion is long enough, the playback goes back to normal speed. Has anyone seen this issue before? What could be the cause? I'm using motion version 9fa9d22473899f654922174db0c474e14738a833 Regards, jasaw ------------------------------ Message: 3 Date: Fri, 21 Jul 2017 08:32:25 +0100 From: John Baker <jba...@dryfish.org.uk> To: Motion discussion list <motion-user@lists.sourceforge.net> Subject: [Motion-user] motioneye Message-ID: <1500622345.3420335.1047944944.4c422...@webmail.messagingengine.com> Content-Type: text/plain; charset="utf-8" Hello, Does motioneye's ccrisan read this list? I've been playing with motioneye and it's got an excellent UI, but the configuration could be improved (if this is not already possible). It auto-generates a motion conf file & threads for each camera added through the UI, but is it possible to read an existing motion configuration? Having taken the time to set up my cameras, it would be helpful to re-use an existing configuration rather than accept the various defaults generated by motioneye.
