This is also written in the documentation of motion http://www.lavrsen.dk/foswiki/bin/view/Motion/ConfigFileOptions (rtsp_uses_tcp). I also tried to use TCP protocol, but the screen remains grey and motion said "unable to open video device". It is strange because the datasheet of camera said that TCP protocol is supported. Thanks Alessandro 2017-12-27 16:27 GMT+01:00 Alessandro Parmiani <ale.parmian...@gmail.com>: > Ok, > the network is good, because i'm pinging the camera for a while and the > response is always very fast (2 or 3 ms). > In any case there is another thing that is strange: the corrupted video is > only during the day when there is the natural light, during the night when > IR of the camera turns on the video is always good. > > Alessandro > > 2017-12-27 16:00 GMT+01:00 tosiara <tosi...@gmail.com>: > >> According to decoding errors the image corruptions are pretty expected >> and will trigger false positive motion detection. >> You will have to identify what is causing the decoding errors - is it a >> specific camera protocol that violates the standard or is it network issue. >> >> To check the protocol: hook the camera directly to a computer with a >> short cable, disable wireless and run ffplay for a few minutes.
