The capture interval is every 15 minutes. Motion runs on a Raspberry Pi 2B and saves the images to a USB flash drive (Sandisk I think). The USB webcam is the same Logitech C920 you mentioned. I don't have any suggestions, but just wanted to share what I've had success with...so it *is* possible.
