Re: More mjpeg issues (tosiara) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Message: 1 Date: Mon, 26 Nov 2018 21:42:48 -0600 From: David Powell <da...@depowell.com> To: Motion discussion list <Motion-user@lists.sourceforge.net> Subject: [Motion-user] More mjpeg issues Message-ID: <6ba97783-fb59-3100-abb0-ecef6cef3...@depowell.com> Content-Type: text/plain; charset="utf-8"; Format="flowed" I bought another camera, this time one that does MJPEG.? For some reason, I can't seem to get Motion to read the MJPEG stream, even though it works fine in Firefox, Opera, and Chrome. The RTSP stream works fine in Motion.? What I get in the log for the MJPEG stream is *[4:ml4] [CRT] [NET] [Nov 26 21:24:50] netcam_start: libjpeg decompression failure on first frame - giving up!** **[4:ml4] [ERR] [VID] [Nov 26 21:24:50] vid_start: Netcam failed to open* This camera has three resolutions, which apparently cannot be changed: *1280x720*, *640x360*, and *320x180*. I seem to remember a long time ago there was some restriction in Motion where the video size had to be a certain ratio, *4:3* I believe.? I looked through the docs and couldn't find any reference to that though.? Am I mis-remembering it? Is that still a thing? Also, the docs indicate that you can use an /mjpeg:/// or /mjpg:/// URL in the configuration file and Motion will translate it to an http:// URL, the purpose being to force MJPEG decoding.? Neither works for me.? The former tries to interpret the stream as RTSP and the latter just gives a syntax error. Can you upload the full "-d 7" log somewhere? On Tue, Nov 27, 2018 at 5:43 AM David Powell <da...@depowell.com> wrote: > I bought another camera, this time one that does MJPEG.
