I guess they are attracted to the infrared light from the illuminator ring.? Does anyone have any suggestions on how to prevent them from building webs in front of the cameras?? I don't see an /ignore-spider-webs/ setting in the configuration. :-) -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... ------------------------------ Message: 2 Date: Sat, 15 Dec 2018 10:49:58 -0500 From: Harlan Daneker <hdane...@gmail.com> To: Motion discussion list <motion-user@lists.sourceforge.net> Subject: Re: [Motion-user] spiders Message-ID: <CAC1WkiQUQp3YAZUPCU5pyYZnjG0Rq=2s-iuth1k0ghnq5qu...@mail.gmail.com> Content-Type: text/plain; charset="utf-8" Use either peppermint, *tea tree*, citrus, lavender or neem essential *oil*, as these *oils* are proven to repel *spiders*. Try to use a glass *spray* bottle, as essential *oils* can sometimes react with plastic. The bugs and hence the spiders will be attracted to the light and mostly stay away from the camera.? Don't put the IR light too far from the camera, or you will start to get deep shadows in the picture. I've been using some Logitech USB cameras for the past half-decade and would like to upgrade to some IP PoE+ cameras. Thank you for your replies. ------------------------------ ------------------------------ Subject: Digest Footer _______________________________________________ Motion-user mailing list Motion-user@lists.sourceforge.net https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/motion-user ------------------------------ End of Motion-user Digest, Vol 150, Issue 3 *******************************************
