We are in a remote location with NO external / cloud service. Purchased a GoPro to use, but the WiFi they use only uses their app in full 4K, and it's not real stand alone; it apparently synchronizes with their web. I was told it's low resolution video only even on the older GoPro's. I think I saw a dongle that you could use with regular USB Webcams that would present as WiFi; this would work also if we had one of those car starter USB battery packs as well. == John == [cid:image001.jpg@01D50A62.8AA80E80]<https://www.amazon.com/Getting-Started-React-VR-immersive-ebook/dp/B077VR6FMQ/> John Gwinner . Thanks for the app. Now I want to play a bit deeper but swamped by the very many RTSP cameras around. Does anyone have any prior dealings with some eaby ones I can play? with just to get my feet wet? At the moment just want to stream video of the backyard onto a PC in the house. Would be nice to grab that and motion detect msg on my android phone but I think thats a step up for just yet. Im hoping for now once its streaming to my PC I can ssh into it from anywhere/other pc and view/interrogate it. Im just concerned about this cloud stuff which Ive read can make the cam useless unless you buy in to their cloud, so not sure which ones dont have all that nonsense. I have plenty of cat5/6 cable throughout the place and could easily arrange POE or local power. wifi is a complication I can do with out for the moment but so many of them have it now so as long as I can utp in Im fine/can ignore the wifi? some I have come across: crazy $30 unit very basic with pan an tilt at 720p https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Wireless-CCTV-720P-WIFI-IP-Camera-Home-Security-IR-Night-Vision-Cam-P2P-RTSP-TCP/192847944244?hash=item2ce6a21a34:g:gK4AAOSw7mNcf48T looks like a basic should do the job unit $33 https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/1080P-HD-IP-Camera-2-0MP-Network-P2P-RTSP-H-264-24-IR-Leds-IR-CUT-Night-C4W1/283466748896?hash=item41ffef53e0:g:h5cAAOSwVJVcxg1M 2mp dome jobby 440 https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Eyes-sys-H-265-1080P-IP-36IR-2MP-3MP-5MP-CCTV-HD-POE-DOME-Camera-ONVIF-RTSP-NVR/302838647079?hash=item4682970927:m:mY4jdc8grGJi1yNDoLffU5w 5mp unit https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Waterproof-H-265-5MP-3MP-2MP-POE-CCTV-36LEDS-IP-Camera-ONVIF-BLUE-IRIS-RTSP-NVR/283300562836?hash=item41f6078794:m:mOuvLeO0iZNYj4UirR57Pcw ------------------------------ Message: 3 Date: Wed, 15 May 2019 10:40:40 +0100 From: Colin Law <clan...@gmail.com> To: Motion discussion list <motion-user@lists.sourceforge.net> Subject: Re: [Motion-user] Wireless HD or 4K cameras Message-ID: <CAL=0gltaak7cqtx1hpgl5i6-ajbg8wdohs1qxyuspwpowqw...@mail.gmail.com> Content-Type: text/plain; charset="utf-8" On Wed, 15 May 2019 at 02:12, John D.
