I?m thinking out loud here ? what would a ?max? threshold do?

If the amount of motion is above threshold, you record.

If it?s above the max you what ? record? Stop recording?

Would that mean if there?s TOO much motion you don?t record, like if there?s a
huge glitch, or the camera falls?

John,
I?m using several pi?s with motion as a security system. I have the
stills emailed to me when motion is detected. On partially cloudy days I get
many false alarms when the clouds move under the sun. With the threshold max
above say 20,000 pixels I?m hoping the false alarms will stop. I didn?t
realize all I had to do was add a ?threshold_maximum? line to the config file
(super easy)! Thank you ThomasD! I?m testing tomorrow.
Thanks for the listserve help everyone!
Travis

If you set the threshold that high, won?t that defeat the use of the pi?s as
security devices? I have a pi aimed out my front window to watch my front porch
and driveway. The house is close enough to the street that the street is in the
field of view. The garbage truck did not hit that threshold. Neither did the
UPS truck that stopped on the street between my driveway and the neighbor?s
driveway.

Ted
