I didn't get to doing the upgrade, mainly because I don't have the slightest idea which of the files to use to do the upgrade. The ffmpeg_duplicate_frames setting isn't available for my version of motion. What I found was that at some point I had set event_gap to 60 to try to capture a short time after motion was no longer detected.
